From the ambient guitars wrapped around beautiful soaring vocals, to the subtle piano that sneaks up and makes you pay attention, Oceans In Love will passionately draw you in as you listen. Allison Jones, columnist of The Evening Sun, describes OIL as “a musical wave.” Their passion for what they do is truly contagious. Recently moving longtime bassist, Matt Ferguson, to piano/guitar and also adding two new members, OIL has both a new sound and direction. Lead singer, Philip Herndon, says, “We hope that our music gives everyone we come in contact with hope and by some way help you to experience the beauty of God.” As of January of 2010, Philip Herndon was diagnosed with throat polyps and told he many never sing again. However, in only 6 months he made a full recovery and is now back to singing as if nothing had happened to his voice. “I feel like through all the things that life throws at us ,God is more than capable to handle them. I’m learning to have hope and to trust in Him in all things.” So what’s next for Oceans In Love?
