Thomas Samuel Jankowski aka DJ Sam @ Chaishop.com passed through most musical styles before “discovering” trance music in 1993. With Trance he found a way of life that he was always searching for – diverse, intense, tolerant, colorful and underground.

After participating the scene as a party freak for four years Sam wanted to take an active part and co-founded the electronic magazine Chaishop.com - still one of the most renowned websites for trance culture. In the coming years he co-founded further projects like The Trancer's Guide to the Galaxy magazine, the media agency Chaishop Media and lately the weekly audio show Chaishop Music News.

Sam started to DJ in 1998 and - until today - played at around 200 parties in over 20 countries. These parties ranged from a freaky 300 people party in the german forests to major festivals like Boom, Voov, Samothraki, etc.. He started off with progressive trance, developed into psychedelic trance and always enjoyed playing chillout as well.

However after 10 years of playing psytrance Sam needed a new inspiration. He listened carefully to the explosive activity in the reborn electro & techno scene and started to experiement with the new sounds. After a year Sam found his new style without dropping his basic musical characteristic: hypnotic grooves, phat basslines and a progressing story to dance on.
