Antaro (Spirit Zone - Germany/Thailand)

Beginning his legendary deejay career during the early days of acid house and new beat in the late 1980’s, DJ Antaro brought about and witnessed the introduction of electronic dance music on the pristine beaches of Goa, India.

An international career as psychedelic trance deejay continued throughout the years to come. Today DJ Antaro remains one of the handful of active artists’ who are an integral part of the trance movement from its collective grassroots inception. Recognised worldwide for his pioneering efforts to establish psychedelic trance in Western Europe, DJ Antaro organised the very first events relating to the Indian trance dance experience in his home country Germany during 1990.

The most prolific event being the “VooV Experience” outdoor festival, which now attracts over 10,000 visitors each year. The groundbreaking success of this unique event catalysed the formation of the mainland Europe’s first independent psychedelic trance label Spirit Zone Recordings in 1994. Under his supervision the venture quickly became one of the global trance scene’s premier record labels. With over 180 releases to date, including over 80 artist albums and 40 compilations, DJ Antaro’s guidance and foresight has ensured many upcoming musical talents unprecedented exposure, most of whom became shooting stars of the global trance underground following their debut releases with the label.

With a DJ history spanning all trance eras and genre defining developments, Antaro has captivated countless partygoers with his intuitively flowing track selections. Being well known and loved for playing morning sets, DJ Antaro today has returned to his psychedelic roots, nowadays playing all sort of trance - from full on psychedelic trance to progressiv trance. on special occasions he plays groovy, progressiv house sets as well as chill out sets.

“Son sans frontiers” – could describe his impressive appearances all over the world: all Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa North, Africa South, Brazil,, India, Japan, Thailand, Russia, ,Bulgaria, Czechia, Serbia, Hungary, Poland and so on. Antaro lives in Thailand, or (while in Europe) on the island of Ibiza or Hamburg.
